How E2EE Works
Encryption at the Source For in-store payments, when a customer taps or inserts their card, the payment terminal immediately encrypts the card data before sending it for processing. All in-store payment acceptance devices are PCI PTS-certified, ensuring compliance with the highest security standards for protecting payment data.
For online payments, customer payment details are encrypted at checkout and remain protected throughout the transaction.

Once encrypted, payment data travels through networks without being exposed or readable to any unauthorized party.
Decryption at a Secure Endpoint
Only Surfboard Payments' PCI DSS and PCI PIN-certified decryption environment can decrypt the data before forwarding it for authorization. Our systems are regularly tested to meet strict security and compliance standards, ensuring that data remains protected at all times.
