Terminal Stuck on Surfer Logo
Symptom
Your terminal powers on and shows the Surfer logo (or “Surfboard” branding) but won’t progress beyond that — no payment screen, no charging indicator, etc.
What to try
Please follow these steps in order. After each, check whether the terminal has booted past the logo. If still stuck, move to the next.
Step | Action |
---|---|
1. Force reboot / Boot-up mode | Press and hold the Volume Up + Power buttons together for 15–20 seconds. This should force the terminal into a special boot-up or recovery mode. |
2. Charge while in boot-up mode | With the device still in boot-up mode, plug it into a charger and leave it charging for 20–30 minutes. Ensure the charger and cable are functioning correctly. |
3. Reboot from boot-up mode | After charging, in the boot-up mode menu select “Reboot” by pressing the Volume Up button, then confirm your choice by pressing the Volume Down button. |
Additional suggestions
-
Make sure you are using the original power adapter / cable, or one that is certified to work with the terminal. Using too‐weak or incompatible chargers may prevent proper booting.
-
If the battery is removable (or serviceable), double-check that it is seated properly. Loose contacts can cause partial power issues.
-
Try booting in a room with stable temperature (not too cold or hot); extreme temperatures sometimes interfere with battery/boot behaviour.
