You can choose to add tips on either a whole store or to a specific terminal from your Merchant Portal
The two alternative paths to add tips to your terminals are either on store-level or terminal-level. If you add tips to a store, all terminals registered to that store will inherit those settings. However, if you configure tips on a specific terminal, those settings will override any store settings for that terminal.
For example: If you have a restaurant where you wish to offer your customers the alternative of selecting between 10%, 15%, or 20% in tips for all terminals in that store, you can add it under store settings. But then you have one terminal where you want them to choose between 15%, 20%, and 25% together with custom tips, you can go into that specific terminal and add those settings which will override the store settings for the specific terminal.
How to add tips to all terminals inside a storeSelect your store from the list of stores in the Store tab.
Then toggle the Use tips alternative in the Tips for the store block.
Pre-set tip: Once it's toggled you can pre-set some tips in three levels. These are percentages based on the transaction amount.
Custom tips: You can choose whether or not to allow custom tips for the user
Default custom tip amount: If you enable custom tips, you can choose to add a default amount to it, or keep it at 0.
Display calculated amount: This toggles whether or not the calculated amount (the actual amount of each pre-set tip percentage based on the transaction amount) is visible to the customer.
How to add tips to a specific terminalFind the terminal you wish to enable terminal-specific tips to, then toggle the box Tips for the terminal to add tips or override the store tips settings. This includes the same alternatives as for the store, but will only be applied to the terminal.
Once you are done with your configuration, you just hit the green button Set tips » and then you're good to go. The terminal(s) are updated instantly and tips will be available the next time you trigger a transaction.
